Device Library Plus is now called OneLibrary. If you are looking for the old name after updating Rekordbox, that is the first thing to check. AlphaTheta confirms that Rekordbox’s Device Library Plus and OneLibrary exports are compatible; the name change does not mean you need a third library on your USB drive. See AlphaTheta’s explanation here.
For a USB you can take between older and newer Pioneer DJ/AlphaTheta equipment, keep both the traditional Device Library and OneLibrary. The important part is checking that your playlists are present in both. A drive working on your CDJs at home does not prove that the same playlists will appear on an OPUS-QUAD in the exact same way.

What Is The Device Library Plus Format?
It’s the newer database format used for USB exports from Rekordbox. The database holds your library information, including playlists and cue points. You will see it called OneLibrary in current documentation and newer software.
Luckily, creating a new library does not equal duplicating all the music files, so the space overhead after a successful library conversion is rather small.
After a successful conversion, on your USB device you’ll have two versions of your library: one in the legacy format, and one in the OneLibrary format (formerly Device Library Plus). Note that the older Pioneer DJ devices will still make use of the legacy version of the library, while the newer devices like the OPUS-QUAD will use the new format.

There are three separate things here: the library database, the USB drive’s file system, and the audio files. Converting the library does not reformat the drive or turn an unsupported audio file into a supported one. OneLibrary is also not a DJ software platform or a promise that every application exports identical data.
Which Equipment Uses Which Library?
| Library | Equipment |
|---|---|
| OneLibrary / Device Library Plus | CDJ-3000X, CDJ-1500X, OPUS-QUAD, OMNIS-DUO, XDJ-AZ, XDJ-AN |
| Traditional Device Library | CDJ-3000, CDJ-2000NXS2, CDJ-2000NXS, XDJ-1000MK2, XDJ-700, XDJ-XZ, XDJ-RX3, XDJ-RX2, XDJ-RR, among others |
The CDJ-3000 and CDJ-3000X use different libraries. So do the XDJ-XZ and XDJ-AZ. Check the full model name, not just the brand or how recently you bought it. The table above follows Rekordbox’s official USB compatibility chart, checked on September 6, 2026.
This is one of the practical differences to account for when moving, for example, between an OPUS-QUAD and an XDJ-XZ. Keeping the older database is useful even if your own system only reads OneLibrary.
Converting Old Libraries To Device Library Plus?
Back up the USB first. If you have made playlists or other changes on the equipment, bring those back into Rekordbox using the steps in the next section before converting. Converting from Device Library overwrites an existing OneLibrary, including playlists and playback histories stored only there.
- Open an up-to-date Rekordbox installation on your computer and connect the USB.
- Under Devices, expand the USB drive.
- Right-click OneLibrary and choose Convert from Device Library.
- After conversion, open the OneLibrary entry and check the tracks and playlists you intend to play.
These are the current Rekordbox 7 instructions. In Rekordbox 6, the entry is labelled Device Library Plus; the version 6 FAQ documents the equivalent conversion.

Rekordbox may also offer conversion when you connect an older USB. You do not need to wait for that prompt to check the drive. Open both library entries and look for an actual playlist, rather than assuming that a completed export means every playlist is present in both databases.
Different Playlists, Cues Or Track Counts?
If, for instance, you make some changes to your playlists on your OPUS-QUAD, they won’t be reflected when you put the same flash drive into your old CDJs, at least until you decide to sync the two versions of the library in Rekordbox.
The same problem can happen when you edit a playlist directly under Devices in Rekordbox. For routine changes, edit the playlist in your Collection, then export it. AlphaTheta recommends this workflow so the changes reach both libraries.
To bring changes made on the equipment back into your main library, follow these three steps:
- Update Collection: right-click the USB under Devices and select this command to bring back edited cue points and beatgrids.
- Import Playlist: import the playlists created on the equipment from the USB into Rekordbox. Use the library that actually contains the changes.
- Export Playlist: export the resulting Collection playlist back to the USB. This writes it to both databases.
Unfortunately, there is no direct OneLibrary-to-Device Library conversion, so you need to use the simple import-and-export workflow above. Running Convert from Device Library goes the other way and can replace the very playlists you are trying to recover.
Deleting a track or playlist under one USB library also does not delete it from the other. Check both entries when tidying the drive. Different counts alone do not tell you which library has the version you want to keep.
Pioneer DJ OPUS-QUAD Playlists Not Showing Up
If your drive works on an older player but the OPUS-QUAD reports “Rekordbox Device Library Plus not found!”, check the newer library first. Having your music files on the USB is not enough to establish that the correct exported database is there.
The following applies when the USB only has the traditional database:
- If you have prepared USB flash drives with the music that you exported for your CDJ or XDJ players, you will have to convert your libraries to be able to access your tracks on the OPUS QUAD.
- If OneLibrary is present but a playlist is missing, compare that playlist in both USB library entries and in Collection. That is a more useful check than repeatedly exporting an unrelated track to see whether something changes.
- If the USB itself is not recognised, or individual tracks will not load, investigate those separately. Check the drive’s file system and the audio formats supported by the exact player. Even the OPUS-QUAD’s format support depends on the playback source. Library conversion cannot fix an unsupported audio format.
No Device Library Plus Checkbox In Rekordbox?
You do not need to find the old checkbox to enable current USB exports. In other words, Rekordbox will, by default, export your track library in two formats, the old, legacy one, and the new Device Library Plus format. This behaviour was introduced in Rekordbox 6.8.1, back in December 2023. That is why early OPUS-QUAD tutorials do show a step which no longer matches the software.
In newer Rekordbox versions, also look for OneLibrary rather than Device Library Plus. Use the USB’s library entries to check your export, and the conversion command above if the older library needs converting.
Before taking the drive out, I would check one playlist you recently changed, a few cue points and an actual track load on the equipment you will use. Keep a separate backup USB. Those checks are worth more than seeing two library names and assuming the preparation is finished. And that’s pretty much it!
