How to convert .vdjsample to .ogg format?
With the default samplerExportLossless setting disabled, recorded samples use OGG compression. In this case, you can usually get the audio out without doing any actual conversion first – simply change the file extension from .vdjsample to .ogg.
- First, you’ll have to locate the folder in which VirtualDJ saved your recorded sample files. You can do that by right clicking on one of your samples in the VirtualDJ library and then clicking the Open in Explorer option.
- To convert your .vdjsample files to .ogg audio file format, simply remove the “.vdjsample” file extension and change it to “.ogg”. Then, confirm the changes. You can now try opening the renamed file in Audacity or another program that supports OGG audio.
If the renamed .ogg file doesn’t open, first check the samplerExportLossless setting in VirtualDJ. If it’s enabled, the sample uses FLAC compression instead, so try opening the original .vdjsample file directly in Audacity or renaming a copy to .flac.
Audacity can also open many .vdjsample files directly, so it’s worth trying that before changing the extension.
How to convert VirtualDJ sample files to mp3?
After you’ve followed the last step and acquired a usable .ogg file from your VirtualDJ sample library, it’s time to convert it to a .mp3 file.
If you don’t want to lose audio quality by converting your sample to a lossy format such as MP3, you can simply keep the OGG file, or export it to a lossless format such as FLAC or WAV.
To convert your .ogg sample file to MP3, you can use audio editing software you already have installed, such as Audacity, an online audio converter, or another local conversion utility.
